“The Portal to Nature”
We are within an area of northeastern Puerto Rico the Sierra Club calls “The Portal to Nature” and believes should be “a prime destination for ecotourism”. From Yuquiyú, it is just fifteen minutes to the heart of El Yunque rainforest and twenty minutes to famed Luquillo Beach. With a guide or on your own, discover the rainforest, sea turtle nesting sites, coral reefs, a bioluminescent lagoon, ancient petroglyphs and a Spanish colonial city. For details, see What can I do?
