Yuquiyú is a rustic retreat in the foothills of Puerto Rico’s El Yunque rainforest that offers artisan-crafted treehouses with a balcony, designer furnishings, a granite kitchenette and a slate bath. The three-acre tropical garden comprises an organic farm, a cascading river and territorial rainforest views. Superbly located, Yuquiyú is just fifteen minutes from the heart of the rainforest, twenty minutes from famed Luquillo Beach, thirty minutes from the San Juan Airport and thirty-five minutes from Old San Juan. Sea turtle nesting sites, coral reefs, a bioluminescent lagoon, ancient petroglyphs and Culebra Island are near.

We are a glamping destination. Glamping means glamorous, or luxury, camping — an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in comfort. It is a unique experience in harmony with nature — one unlike a hotel, resort, inn or bed and breakfast. Yuquiyú is perfect for a couple seeking a romantic escape, newlyweds seeking a honeymoon destination, friends seeking quality time together or an artist seeking tranquility and inspiration. We are not for everyone, but if you have a sense of adventure, love being close to nature and want to experience Caribbean living the way it ought to be, Yuquiyú may be for you.

We currently are accepting reservations for La Cara de Indio and La Cascada treehouses. Each has a river view and an iconic view of the rainforest. Our rate for each treehouse is $200 per night plus 7% tax. There are no other charges. The minimum stay is two consecutive nights. Each treehouse is suitable for a couple or a solo traveler without children or pets.

Vegetarian/Vegan: Yuquiyú is meat free (from any kind of animal, including mammals, fish, fowl and others). We ask guests to observe that principle by not bringing any meat onto the property (restaurants offering a variety of cuisines are close by).

“Yuquiyú exalts not only the impressive beauty of our native land but also the rich culture of our ancestors…”

– Carmen Dominicci, Univision

Dear Martin:

I wanted to let you know that you own a piece of heaven. Our stay was short, but our memories are ever lasting. The little home was amazing, views spectacular, the premises clean and the service was so feel-at-home and welcoming. We will most definitely return for a longer stay. It was the peace and tranquility that we desired, and it was away from the world yet so close to everything. It is a jewel in the mist. I am so in love with Yuquiyú.

“Fire”, the manager, was so kind and friendly. He seems so proud of the place. Our nuts and snacks were a wonderful surprise and so yummy. We made smoothies each day and had a nice wholesome breakfast with the yogurt, granola and the fruits from the premises.

It was truly a remarkable experience, and we have shared so many pictures with friends and family. All they say is, “Wow, it's paradise”. All we do is smile and say "Yes, it is". We will return.

Too bad Ponce de Leon didn’t look for the Fountain of Youth right in his own backyard …

He might have discovered Yuquiyú.

El Balcón del Río (River Balcony) is a tranquil place to relax in the hidden world of our river. Meditate to the sound of cascading water and rejuvenate in a natural pool.
